Demonstration is over: The law should be implemented in Imrali 2023-02-03 16:15:29   ANKARA - Stating that the isolation in İmralı is part of the policy of eliminating the democratic gains of the Kurdish people, HDP Group MP Chairperson Saruhan Oluç demanded that the law be implemented.   The Justice Watch, which was initiated by the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MPs to allow PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan to meet with his lawyers, ended on its 32nd day. MPs Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, Ali Kenanoğlu, Muazzez Orhan, Kemal Bülbül, Abdullah Koç, Dilan Dirayet Taşdemir, Ayşe Sürücü, Kemal Peköz, Rıdvan Turan and Hüseyin Kaçmaz made a statement together with posters that read “The law should be applied in İmralı” and “Isolation is a crime against humanity” in the garden of the Parliament.    THE DEMONSTRATION IS OVER   Speaking at the watch, HDP Group MP Chairperson Saruhan Oluç said: "We are on the last day of the demonstration. The isolation in Imrali has been going on for a long time. There is no such example in the world. The Ministry of Justice and the government have once again created an example in Turkey that does not exist in the world. Isolation is not only the absence of lawyers, family and phone calls, but also the point where the law is reset. The isolation is also a part of the policy of eliminating the democratic gains gained by the Kurdish people through the policies implemented by this government. There has been no news from Öcalan since March 2021. All applications for interviews were rejected on the grounds of disciplinary sanctions. No information was received from İmralı. National and international law is clearly violated, international agreements signed by Turkey are being violated. This issue has become the subject of lawyers and lawyers in the international arena. This government has made Turkey this way."   ÖCALAN DOESN'T WANT PRIVILEGES'   Mr. Öcalan does not want any privileges. Öcalan said that he wants law, not privilege, Oluç said: “We also want law, not privilege, in every application we make to the Ministry of Justice and government officials. We want the law to be implemented and the law to be removed at zero point. After 32 days, we end the demonstration. As of February 6, we will start the 'We march to İmralı for Solution' march and activities from two branches, starting from Yüksekova and Kızıltepe because this illegal situation must end as soon as possible and negotiations must be held. We call on the Ministry once again. We will make sure the law works."
