Imrali call to the Ministry of Justice: Öcalan should be contacted by his lawyers 2023-01-06 15:57:02 ANKARA - Calling the Ministry of Justice against the isolation of Öcalan in Imrali, HDP MPs said: "This isolation should be lifted as soon as possible, and his lawyers and relatives should meet with Mr. Öcalan and other prisoners."   The demonstration, initiated by the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MPs demanding that PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan meet with his lawyers, continued on its 12th day. MPs Murat Sarısaç, İmam Taşçıer, Ayşe Sürücü, Kemal Bülbül, Erdal Aydemir, Fatma Kurtulan, Hüseyin Kaçmaz, Hasan Özgüneş, Mahmut Toğrul and Celadet Gaydalı called out to the Ministry of Justice from the Parliament Dikmen Gate on the 12th day of their protests.   WHY ARE YOU AFRAID OF STOP WAR?   Stating that Abdullah Öcalan and other prisoners have been in isolation in İmralı for 23 years, HDP Şırnak MP Hasan Özgüneş: “The people of Turkey evolved into hope during the Oslo talks and the meetings held in 2012-2013. Turkey was relieved. Mr. Öcalan said in the last meetings, "If an opportunity is created for me, if I can find an interlocutor, I can eliminate this environment of war and conflict". Could there be a better opportunity than this? Mr. Öcalan and his friends have not been able to meet with their lawyers For more than 22 months without any legal justification, family, and have no contact with the outside world; therefore, this situation is a source of concern both for the people and for their families and relatives. This cannot be accepted. This creates the ground for the deepening of negativities, conflicts and chaos. Our demand is that the gates of Imrali be opened as soon as possible, and that the rights of every prisoner and convict are applied to Imrali and other prisons in a manner befitting democratic countries. The way for a democratic solution to the Kurdish Question must be paved, and everyone who has a say must be brought to a conclusion by peacefully speaking their word. This Parliament has the chance to resolve all of Turkey's problems, especially the Kurdish one, through negotiations on a democratic basis by all parties. Everything stems from the problems arising from the inability of politics and power. That is why we say that this isolation should be lifted as soon as possible, and his lawyers and relatives should meet with Mr. Öcalan and other prisoners. We are hopeful, we will continue our struggle until the end.”
