Electricity, water and natural gas cuts in Eregli Prison 2022-12-22 15:42:22   ANKARA - It has been stated that electricity, water and natural gas cuts were made in the rooms of Ereğli High Security Prison, where the hunger strike against the severe isolation and rights violations continues.   The hunger strike started by the prisoners on October 4, against rights violations and severe isolation conditions in Konya Ereğli High Security Prison, which turned into an indefinite and nonrotating hunger strike on November 16, continues. The prisoners, who continued the action despite the severe isolation and violations of rights, stated that this time electricity, water and natural gas cuts have started in the prison.   'THEY ONLY TURN ON NATURAL GAS FOR ONE HOUR'   İbrahim Sütcü, who is on hunger strike, said in a phone call with his family that their demands were not met and that they are still kept in single cells. Noting that the prison conditions are getting worse day by day, Sütcü said: “Now, they have also restricted water, electricity and natural gas. We can hardly use the water, they cut it immediately. They cut off the electricity early in the evening. They also turn on and off the natural gas for only one hour. They keep us in new cells, these cells are still under construction, and when we cut off the natural gas, we get very cold. We are isolated in single cells and established no communication. They also prevent our complaints from being publicized. Our friends who went on the first hunger strike became very weak and memory loss started. Their condition is bad and getting worse and worse."   Sütcü called for solidarity with human rights and legal organizations against violations of rights in prison.
