Urfa Peace Mothers: Abdullah Öcalan should be met 2022-12-14 12:46:57   URFA- Urfa Peace Mothers, who want the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan to end, called for "Isolation to end, wars to end, peace to come".   Lawyers and their families have not heard from PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and Hayri Konar, Veysi Aktaş and Hamili Yıldırım, who are being held in İmralı High Security Prison, for more than 20 months. The isolation in Imrali, which continues to be aggravated every day, brings with it the deadlock of the Kurdish question. Urfa Peace Mothers called for the end of the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan to end the war and to return to dialogue and negotiations.   'TODAY, NOT TOMORROW'   Stating that the aggravated isolation on Abdullah Öcalan should be lifted, Peace Mother Fatma Akbaş said: "We want the isolation to be lifted and the war to stop. It is enough that our children should not die. The worsening conditions will improve if PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan speaks. Everything is connected with the isolation with Abdullah Öcalan. If the isolation ends, these clashes will end. We do not want neither the guerrilla nor the soldier to die. We want this fire to end in the war. We want this fire to go out and we want it to go out today, not tomorrow."   'IF THE ISOLATION LIFTS, THE WAR SHOULD BE ENDED'   Pointing out that the bloodshed should stop, the Mother of Peace, Adalet Çay said: "The way to stop the war will be possible with the end of the social barriers and inability to hear about PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who has been in isolation for 20 months. The visit of Council of Europe Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) to İmralı Island was empty. Abdullah Öcalan did not meet with the CPT. When the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan ends, this war will be ended. No mother should cry anymore. The meetings with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan should be held as soon as possible. We condemn the silence of international states against the war and isolation. Mothers call for talks on the streets every day. We are calling out to the whole world. The isolation and the war should be ended. No mother should cry.”
