TJA will implement conference resolutions 2022-11-21 14:08:58   ANKARA - Stating that one of the main agendas of TJA and Kurdish women is isolation, which has turned into an instrument of violence, HDP's Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit said: "The decisions of the 4th Women's Conference will be implemented with the commissions to be established.   The flag of the Mirabal sisters, which has become the symbol of the struggle against oppression and tyranny against the fascist Trujillo Government in the Dominican Republic, has been raised all over the world for 62 years. The gains of the women's struggle are met with intolerance by the patriarchal system. The Istanbul Convention, which protects women and children in an international context, was terminated by the decision of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at midnight. The cases before the Council of State regarding the rejection of the termination request of women were rejected. In Turkey alone, in the first 10 months of 2022, 280 women were murdered by men, 202 women were found suspiciously dead.   As in the rest of the world, women in Turkey and Kurdistan do not back down from the struggle against oppressions that amount to gender extermination. Women who fit an activity and action into every day insist on freedom. In this context, the 4th Women's Conference, organised by the Free Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA) with the slogan "We are determined against fascism, we insist on freedom", was held in Batman on September 24. 700 delegates from the cities of Turkey and Kurdistan attended the two-day conference. Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MP Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, who took part in the conference, evaluated the debates, as well as the November 25 International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, symbolized by the struggle of the Mirabal sisters, and the women's struggle spread with the slogan "jin, jiyan, azadi".   WOMEN DISCUSSED ISOLATION   Referring to the discussions at the conference, Koçyiğit said: “We had discussions with other women in Turkey and the region on how to fight together, how to overcome oppression, how to fight against our problems. We also held private discussions on the absolute isolation against Mr. Öcalan in İmralı. The isolation imposed on Öcalan is an isolation aimed at blocking the democratization of the Kurdish people and Turkey. In this context, it was clearly stated that there is a peace-oriented isolation in Turkey. Decisions were taken regarding the assimilation policies of the state. A commission for each decision will be established and each region will implement policies to implement these decisions. Apart from violence against women, imprisonment, burning executions, and arrests of women journalists, isolation is one of our most fundamental agendas. Isolation, as an instrument of violence, has been turned into a tool to discipline women. As Kurdish and TJA women, we will fight against war, violence, women's poverty, and the isolation that is the main cause of all these,"   'FREE WOMEN, FREE SOCIETY'   Underlining that the imagination of revolution in the Kurdish freedom struggle is carried out with the women's liberation struggle, Koçyiğit said: "As women, they witnessed this and they built this process. The women's system in the Kurdish freedom struggle is not carried out in many places, including European countries, Our system of co-presidency, equal representation and women's council 'women take the decision of women' stands in a unique place. This is our system; It stands in a place that empowers women, does not postpone it until tomorrow, reveals the state of being a subject and puts it at the center of all freedoms. Women's freedom stands at a very key place with the words of Mr. Öcalan, 'Without women's freedom, society cannot be free'."   'ALL WOMEN SHOULD BE ON THE STREET ON NOVEMBER 25'   Stating that the struggle for freedom should be waged in every aspect of life, from the woman in the village to the woman in the factory, Koçyiğit said: “Against this background, where women's murderers received reduced sentences, the Istanbul Convention was abolished, 6284 was brought up for discussion, the female body was exposed and made the subject of a dirty war. And all women should be on the streets, in the squares, and end male fascism. Together, as we come together, we will get stronger and we will destroy fascism.”
