Houses of Alevis marked, governor's office said it was an individual enmity

	MERSIN - While the houses of 5 Alevi citizens in Mersin were marked, the governor's office claimed that the incident was caused by the hostility between the neighbors.

	 

	Alevi citizens living in Parkent Complex in Batıkent District of Yenişehir district of Mersin, H.Ç., C.L., M.A., Ş.K. and N.C. 's houses were crossed with red paint. After the Alevi citizens reported the situation, the police, who came to the scene, made investigations. While the investigation into the incident was initiated, the citizens stated that it was done by someone or someone who knew they were Alevis and that they felt uneasy and demanded that the perpetrator or perpetrators be found as soon as possible.

	 

	Making a written statement on the incident, Mersin Governor's Office stated that M.K., who was sitting on the same site, was taken into custody after the cross sign was drawn with spray paint on the doors of 2 people's residences, and claimed that the issue stemmed from an individual enmity between the neighbors.
