Brother of Derici from HPG: Kurds will hold accountable for the chemical weapons 2022-10-22 12:05:52   İSTANBUL - Condemning the silence of the world, İhsan Derici, the elder brother of HPG Alican Derici who lost his life in Turkey's chemical weapons attacks said: "The Kurds will hold accountable for the chemical weapons and they will pay a heavy price."   17 HPG members and YJA-Star members lost their lives in Turkey's chemical weapons attack on HPG areas in Southern Kurdistan. One of those who lost his life is Alican Derici (Ciger Manazgirt), born in Muş in 1999. It was stated that Derici's body, who lost his life in Zap on August 28, is in Zap.   DERİCİ FOUGHT AGAINST ISIS   Derici's older brother İhsan Derici said that his brother took part in the youth work of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) in 2011, and that he was detained after 9 months with the statements of 2 people and was arrested and sent to Kandıra Prison. Stating that his brother, who was imprisoned for 3 years, stayed with them for 10-15 days after he was released from prison, Derici said that his brother did not come home one night and that they could not hear from him no matter how many times they called. Derici said: “After a period, we heard that he had passed from Kobani to Rojava. We heard that he was fighting against ISIS gangs. We learned that he was wounded twice during the war. We didn't get any news until we got the news of Shahada,"   HE CONDEMNED A CHEMICAL WEAPON   Derici, who is against the use of chemical weapons in Turkey, said: “We are against the use of chemical weapons. We condemn it. Chemical weapons should not be used anywhere in the world. This is a 'crime against humanity'. The chemicals were used in the Halabja massacre. We know from Halabja how bad a chemical is. We especially wanted the Kurds to see this use of chemical weapons and the world should strongly condemn it."   'KURDISH WILL HOLD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE CHEMICAL WEAPONS'   Noting that the chemical attacks will be held accountable, Derici said: “How did Saddam pay for this, he was punished, I hope those who did this will be held accountable. All of this dirty, collaborative dirty war will stay with them and cost them. I believe that the Kurds in Iraq, Syria and Turkey will one day be held accountable for the chemical weapons. And they will pay a heavy price for what they have done.”
