Condemning the festival in Cizre: It is the continuation of the special war policy 2022-10-17 11:16:15   SIRNAK - Condemning the music festival to be held in partnership with the governorship, district governorship and trustee in Cizre, where 288 people were killed during the curfews and there are still no 14 bodys, women said: "This is part of a special war policy."   It continues to be condemned the "Cizre Music Festival by Mr “Dosso Dossi which was planned to be organised with the sponsorship of the governorship, district governorship and trustee in the Cizre district of Şırnak on October 30.   Xêro Abbas and Tara Mamedova, who are among the artists who will take the stage at the festival, which is announced to be held in Mem û Zîn Park, announced that they will not attend the festival. The singers who will participate as well as the music festival, which is opposed by the entire district, especially the families whose children were killed during the curfews, are at the center of the reactions. Kurtulus Kus, one of the names that will take the stage as part of the festival, came to the fore with raping a fan after the concert he gave on February 27 in Aydın's Efeler district. In the investigation carried out, the prosecutor prepared an indictment for Kuş to be sentenced to imprisonment for not less than 12 years on the charge of "qualified sexual assault".   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Şırnak Provincial Co-chair Sabuha Akdağ, Cizre District Co-chair Zilan Ecevit and Free Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA) activist Güler Tunç made evaluations about the purpose of the festival.   'CIZRE'S CHOICE IS NOT A COINCIDENCE'   TJA activist Güler Tunç described the festivals held in cities devastated by curfews as part of their special war policy. Tunç said: "A trustee-sponsored festival will be held here on October 30. There is also Kurtuluş Kuş among the artists participating in the festival. This person is someone who raped a fan a few months ago. His case is still ongoing. They continue their war policies. These selected artists are specially selected artists. They choose artists with this mentality, just as they choose their soldiers, rangers and police, and send them Kurdistan. A special policy is being carried out on Kurdish youth and Kurdish girls. As TJA, we are against these special war policies. That's why we call our young people to that festival. We call you not to attend because we have not forgotten what we witnessed here 7 years ago. Those who say 'I forgot' have forgotten their identity. A festival was held in Sur before, but now they are holding it in Cizre. It is no accident that these regions were chosen. Organizing a festival where the bones of children from Cizre still exist is a message. For this reason, as Kurdish women and youth, we must stand against these policies.” (ss)
