Dilşah Ercan, whose name Soylu announced: I went to the mountain because the opportunity for democratic struggle was not left 2022-10-03 13:25:22   NEWS CENTER - HPG's Dilşah Ercan, whose name was brought to the agenda by the Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu with the action in Mersin Mezitli, said that the AKP-MHP government went to the mountain because it did not leave the opportunity to wage a democratic struggle.   After a policeman lost his life and many police officers were injured in the bomb and gun action on Tece Police House in Deniz Mahallesi of Mersin's Mezitli district on September 26, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu announced that the action was carried out by Dilşah Ercan (Zozan Tolan) from HPG. After the statement, 22 people, including Ercan's father, mother, 3 older brothers, 3 older sisters and their spouses, were detained in the raid on their home in Mersin, where the family resides. 12 people, including Dilşah Ercan's family, who had been detained for days, were released after their statements to the prosecutor's office.   After HPG announced the names of those who carried out the protest, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu claimed the previous day that the action was "US-centered" and claimed that HPG members came to Tarsus by parachute from the city of Manbij in Northern and Eastern Syria.   'DEMOCRATIC OPPORTUNITIES HAVE BEEN REMOVED'   While the echoes of the action continued, Fırat News Agency (ANF) spoke to HPG's Dilşah Ercan. Ercan said: “I was caught doing journalism work. This is true. However, the practices of the AKP-MHP fascist regime have eliminated the possibilities of telling the truth to the public in Turkey and Kurdistan and conducting a legal-democratic struggle for it. On the basis of this fact, many young people from Kurdistan are going to the mountains to fight with this fascist regime. I am also one of them.”   'I'M DOING MY JOB'   Stating that HPG made the necessary statement, Ercan said: “I am  doing my job. Dealing with the fascist AKP-MHP regime is my most fundamental job, like every other Kurdish guerrilla. I declare that I will be worthy of this as well.”
