Gül, who Soylu said was 'neutralized', appeared in prison 2022-09-20 13:57:10   VAN - Yusuf gül declared dead by Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu turned out in Van High Security Prison since September 5.   A military operation under the name "Eren Abluka-35" was launched on August 24 from the Hanyaylası region in the Bahçesaray district of Van. Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu claimed that 3 HPG members lost their lives in the operation in his post on his Twitter account on September 1. Soylu noted that one of them who lost his life is in the "Orange category". On the website of the Ministry of Interior, it was claimed that 4 HPG members, including Yusuf Gül, code-named Bervedan Serhabun, who was in the "Orange category", lost their lives. After Soylu's statement, pro-government media outlets also reported that Yusuf Gül lost his life in the armed conflict.   THE FAMILY APPLIED TO İHD   However, after Soylu's post, a prisoner in Van High Security Prison shared the information that Gül was brought to their ward on September 5 and taken to a different ward on September 6, during a phone call with his family. Gül's father, Mehmet Reşit Gül, came from Istanbul yesterday and met with his son in Van High Security Prison. After the meeting, the father applied to the Human Rights Association (İHD) Van Branch and requested legal aid.   GÜL WAS CAUGHT AT CHECKPOINT   Stating that his son did not lose his life in the armed conflict, the father of Gül said: "My son was caught at the checkpoint wearing civilian clothes. He was held in Bitlis Provincial Gendarmerie Command for 4 days after he was caught.  We learned that my son was in prison on September 10. The Bitlis Gendarmerie Command called me and asked where Yusuf was on September 1 or 2. When I said I did not know where Yusuf was, they hung up the phone and called again and I gave the same response to the same question. This time, they called my children,and grandchildren. After these events, a prisoner informed me about my son. We learned through the İHD that our child is in prison."
