Lawyers of Öcalan applies to Constitutional Court regarding ban on family visits

	ISTANBUL- Lawyers of Asrın Law Office applied to the Constitutional Court regarding the prevention of family visits of their client, PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

	 

	Asrın Law Office's lawyers have applied to the Constitutional Court (AYM) regarding the prevention of family visits of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who has been held under heavy isolation conditions in İmralı Type F High Security Prison and has not been heard from for more than a year, with "unlawful" disciplinary penalties. In the application, the lawyers drew attention to the state of "incommunicado" and stated that the state of incommunicado is torture and demanded that the right to respect family and private life, the right to defense and fair trial, and the right to an effective remedy be found is being violated.
