Öcalan was given a 6-month ban on attorneys'visit again 2022-05-07 11:34:29   ISTANBUL - PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who has not been heard from for more than a year, has been given a new 6-month attorney ban before the previous 6-month attorney visitation ban expired.   While no contact has been made with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who was held under severe isolation conditions in İmralı Type F High Security Prison, for more than a year, Öcalan was given a new 6-month ban on attorney visits before the previous one expired. While the ban on attorneys expired on April 22, the application made by the attorneys to Bursa Execution Judgeship on April 29, requesting a visit with Öcalan, was rejected by the judgeship.   It was claimed that the reason for the refusal was a new 6-month ban, which was given on April 13. No information was given to the attorneys about the reason for the ban.   ATTORNEYS OBJECTED TO THE BAN   While the aforementioned ban decision was finalized on April 22 without notifying the attorneys, the attorneys appealed to the Bursa Execution Judge on May 6.   BACKGROUND   Öcalan was given a 6-month ban on attorney visits by the Bursa Execution Judge on October 12, 2021. Asrın Law Office's attorneys were informed as a result of intense efforts about this ban as a result of the response they made to the Bursa Execution Judgeship on November 22, 2021, demanding an "immediate visit" with Abdullah Öcalan and the prisoners Ömer Hayri Konar, Hamili Yıldırım and Veysi Aktaş in İmralı.   The ban on attorneys, which was given on October 12, ended on April 22. Upon the expiration of the ban, the attorneys did not receive any response to their applications to visit to their clients, so the attorneys applied to Bursa Execution Judge once again on 29 April.   LAST VISIT IN 2019   The PKK Leader had an "interrupted" phone call with his brother Mehmet Öcalan on March 25, 2021, and the last time he had a meeting with his attorneys was on August 7, 2019.   3 MONTHS DISCIPLINARY PUNISHMENT   On the other hand, the Presidency of the Imrali Disciplinary Board decided to deprive Abdullah Öcalan of family visits for 3 months on February 3, 2022, and this decision became final on February 21. The attorneys were able to learn about the disciplinary punishment decision on March 28, after the rejection of their application to Bursa Execution Judge for the removal of all unlawful obstacles to family visits and for making a family visit.     MA / Diren Yurtsever
