Shengal plans of KDP fails

	NEWS CENTER - Shengal Autonomous Council and the Iraqi army stated that the conflict and tension in Shengal was resolved through dialogue and announced that the KDP's plans to evacuate Shengal failed.

	The Iraqi army, which attacked Shengal with the KDP's "Shengal Agreement", had to retreat in the face of the resistance of the people. Iraqi army launched an attack on Êzidxan Asayish in Shengal simultaneously with the AKP-KDP's attacks on the Federated Kurdistan Region on April 17. The attacks that lasted for days were frustrated in the face of the resistance of the  people of Shengal.

	 

	The clashes that lasted for days ended as a result of the negotiations between the Shengal Democratic Autonomous Council and the Iraqi forces.

	 

	Shengal Democratic Autonomous Council and Shengal Resistance Units (YBŞ) declared that the problems were resolved through dialogue and that all the plans of the KDP and its partners have failed.

	 

	KDP'S BLACK PROPAGANDA

	 

	In the statement of the Autonomous Administration, which stated that the threats of the KDP and Turkey against Shengal continue, the followings were underlined:  “For a long time, the Iraqi army was following the policy of occupation at the request of the KDP and its partner Turkey. For this reason, both the YBŞ and the Autonomous Council contacted the Iraqi forces and called on the Yazidis not to be decieved by these games. However, due to the black propaganda of the KDP, many Yazidi families had to leave Shengal. Ela Ebdulhizir, one of the commanders of the 72nd Division in Iraq, denied the KDP's statements and announced that an atmosphere of peace prevailed in Sinune and Xanesor.

	 

	THE PROBLEMS BETWEEN PARTIES WERE RESOLVED

	 

	Ceko Şengalî, one of the YBŞ commanders, also made a statement. Şengalî said, “Recently, they gave time for the people to leave their homes. People had to leave their villages and homes. However, a conflict situation has not occured. All that was said was lies. And the problems that arose were solved. The time that was given to the people has passed and and 10 more hours have passed but no war has broken out. We call our people to return to their homes.

	 

	KDP'S GAMES

	 

	Shengal Democratic Autonomous Council Co-Chair Heso Ibrahim said, “All the statements that there will be an attack on Shengal were lies. It was a special war tactic that aimed to displace our people and became refugees. These were all lies and the games of the KDP. We call on our people not to be decieved by these dirty tricks of the KDP. The aim of the KDP is to displace the people of Shengal from their homeland. At this point, our society should be at peace and come back.”
