Alphan went to Batman Training and Research Hospital after the violence and took a report of assault. Having received an assault report, Alphan filed a criminal complaint against the police. The police officer, who was taken into custody on April 14, was released on the same day, despite the assault report and the witness statements. While trying to prevent violence, Alphan, who was exposed to violence, reacted to the unlawfulness, spoke about his experiences.   WHAT HAPPENED WAS ILLEGAL   Explaining that he witnessed the attack of the police against a suspect and that he was attacked by the police while he was trying to prevent the attack, Alphan said, “We went to the courthouse to with my client who was going to give his statement on a matter. When the prosecutor referred him to the Criminal Court of Peace, we left his room. This was when I saw what happened. A couple of police officers caught a suspect who was trying to flee and threw him on the floor. The police who beat me punched him in the face even though the other person was neutralized. The police hit him on the head with the radio in his hand. The prisoner was injured very badly. He continued to hit him in the head until they brought him upstairs. Blood was poruing out of his ear. He was covered in scars when we saw him at the hospital."   I WANTED TO WARN THE POLICE   When Alphan wanted to warn the police, the police said, "I am very nervous, who are you, get away from here, what torture" and Alphan said, "I told to the police that he beat this person downstairs, and if he's going to kill me too. He came close and whispered in my ear. He tried to provoke me, and hit me and this happened inside the courthouse."   ALPHAN TOOK AN ASSAULT REPORT   Expressing that they went to the hospital after the assault and received an assault report, Alphan said, “We asked the prosecutor's office for the  camera recordings, in case they were manipulated. We demanded that the investigation be conducted by the gendarmerie, not by the police. I wished he was referred to court with a request of arrest. However, this person was not taken into custody while I was filing an assault report and filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office. They didn't even take a statement or detain him."   THREATENED IN THE HOSPITAL   Stating that the police who used violence against him came to the hospital and continued to threaten him, Alphan said, “I saw the person in the hospital and he continued to provoke me. This person should not be on duty. Our stance against an unjust act is the honor of our profession.”   Reacting to the release of the police, who used violence against both him and the prisoner, despite all the evidence and witness statements, Alphan said that they will continue to follow the case closely.
