Warrants against 91 people as part of the 'Kobanê investigation' 2022-04-12 12:24:22 ANKARA - As part of the investigation carried out by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 91 people were detained in 13 cities.   As part of the investigation carried out by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, warrants were issued for 91 people from 13 different provinces. It was learned that 46 people were detained in the operation carried out within the scope of the "Kobanê investigation".   Many people, including former Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) mayors, were detained in many different cities, including Mersin, Adana, Istanbul, Diyarbakır, Van and Urfa.   NAMES OF THE DETAINEES   Some of the detainees are as follows: Former Akdeniz Municipality Co-Mayor Fazıl Türk, former Akdeniz Municipality employees Hasan Çat, Selami Turan and Ülfiye Özcan, former Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality employee and lawyer Metin Guide, HDP Treasurer Zeki Çelik were detained in Mersin. 6 people, including HDP Adana Provincial Executive Mustafa Bilgiç, Şefik Özbey and Necmettin Aslan, were detained. In Diyarbakır, HDP Kayapınar district manager Şahin Eroğlu and Selçuk Tazgel were detained. In Van, 5 people, including former Van Metropolitan Municipality Councilor Nihat Gezici, were detained.   ÇELİK WAS RELEASED FROM PRISON DURING KOBANE TRIAL   HDP Former Treasurer Zeki Çelik was released from prison during the Kobané Trial against 108 people including former Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) former Co-chairs and HDP Central Executive Board members.   CONFIDENTIALITY DECISION   While the detainees from different provinces have not been brought to Ankara yet, lawyers were not allowed to visit their clients in many other cities except Urfa, on the grounds of a "24-hour lawyer restriction decision". On the other hand, it was learned that there was a confidentiality decision in the file.   STATEMENT FROM THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE        In the written statement made by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the investigation, those detained were accused of taking part in the financial structuring regarding the Kobané protests.
