Gezer's mother: Garibe did not surrender, they killed her 2021-12-11 11:50:05 MARDİN - Gezer's mother who stressed that her daughter was murdered, said: "She did not surrender. They killed her", while Gezer's brother said: "This government killed her."   Garibe Gezer, who was subjected to systematic torture and raped by the guards in Kandıra No. 1 Type F Closed Prison, died in the solitary cell where she was being held, and was buried in her hometown, Dargeçit district of Mardin, last night. Although the prison administration claimed that Gezer ended her life, her family stated that she was murdered. Waiting for the necessary explanations to be made to the public, the family holds the government responsible for Gezer's death while waiting for the those responsible for her death to be revealed and prosecuted.   Gezer's mother, Halime Gezer, is the mother of 11 children along with Garibe. His son Bilal was murdered in the middle of the street on October 7, 2014, during Kobanê protests. While the perpetrators of Gezer were not discovered, Mehmet Emin, the other son of Halime Gezer, was seriously injured and paralyzed by the fire opened by the special operations police in front of the Dargeçit Police Station, where he went to demand an investigation into the killing of his brother. His third son, Haşim, has been in prison for 5 years on political grounds.   Garibe Gezer is the 5th of Halime Gezer's 11 children. Mother Gezer, who started her speech with her son Bilal, who was killed in the middle of the street, said, "The state knows, but it does not reveal who killed him." Noting that Garibe and her son Haşim were arrested afterwards, mother Gezer said, "They fired 160 bullets on my other son Emin, and left him paralyzed."   MOTHER: MY DAUGHTER DID NOT SURRENDER TO THEM   Mother Gezer, who stated that she was systematically harassed in prison, said, "They took her to Kandıra. They killed her there. They kept her alone in a cell, in a padded room with nothing. They say, 'Garibe committed suicide', but they do not let it be investigated. They did not allow the lawyers and MPs to look at her file. They didn't allow it because they will be found guilty. They killed my daughter and they are hiding it." Mother Gezer, who wanted lawyers and MPs to investigate Garibe's murder, said, "Why and how did they kill her? I want to know. She was a woman, and she was a prisoner in their hands. Is this what they do to their captives? My daughter did not kneel before them and did not surrender, so they killed her."   HAŞİM EXPERIENCES THE SAME OPPRESSION   Reminding that her son Haşim, who is being held in Elazığ Closed Prison, was also beaten before and his ribs were broken, mother Gezer stated that Haşim undergone surgery while he was handcuffed and said, "He is experiencing the same oppression. I want the public to focus on this issue. They should either bring a second person to these cells or let them out of these cells and place them in wards."   'GARİBE WAS KURDISTAN'   Garibe's elder brother Mehmet Emin Gezer, who was paralyzed by the fire opened by the police in front of the police station where he went to inquire about the perpetrator of his murdered brother, said that this was not only done to their own family, but also on all Kurds. “This price was going to be paid anyway. As long as we are under this oppression and pressure, we will pay this price,” said Emin Gezer, adding,"She was not just our Garibe. She was the Garibe of this people. She was Kurdish, she was Kurdistan. We never bowed down to them."   'THE GOVERNMENT KILLED HER'   Stating that Garibe did not commit suicide, Emin Gezer continued his words as follows: “This fascist mentality killed her. This government killed her. She was someone who would never bow down in front of anyone. That's why I don't believe Garibe committed suicide. She was a person who would fight to the end. She is gone, but her struggle will continue. This government, this dirty mentality and their supporters killed him. Everyone knew that she was under torture. They think they can finish us by killing us. The more they kill us, the more we multiply. No matter how much they kill us, Garibes of this people will multiply."   HER LAST WORDS: I WILL NOT SURRENDER MY WILL   Mentioning the last phonecall with Garibe, her sister Asya Gezer said her morale was high and added, "The prison administration told she changed after what happened. She was ok. Her morale was high. She chose resistance, she told me, "I chose to resist rather than submitting to them. I will resist. My body will leave this place in a coffin if necessary but I will not surrender my will to them. I will continue to stand tall."       MA / Ahmet Kanbal
