Prison administration asks, "Do you like Öcalan, are you a muslim?" 2021-08-24 15:36:49   İZMİR - İHD member Ahmet Çiçek told that questions such as 'Do you love Öcalan' and 'Are you a muslim' were asked during the assessment of good behavior and their releases were postponed.   The violations of rights against the political prisoners continue in prisons. The violations of rights increased after the hunger strike launched in prisons against the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan on November 27, 2020. Release of the prisoners are postponed due to the assessmentof good behavior.   Human Rights Association (İHD) İzmir Branch Prisons Commission Spokesperson Ahmet Çiçek evaluated the violations of rights, the state of isolation and the impact of the change in the execution law on prisons.   Stating that they have been recieving a lot of letters from Şakran Prison regarding the violations of rights, Çiçek told that arbitrary questions were asked during the assessment of good behavior and their released were postponed because they were evaluated not to be in good behavior. Çiçek told that questions such as 'Do you love Öcalan' or 'Are you a muslim' were asked and the release of prisoners were postponed up to 8 months.   THIS IS NOT LEGAL   Stating that the isolation imposed on Abdullah Öcalan is not legal, Çiçek said the government is trying to legitimize the situation with wierd excuses and underlined that the violations of rights against the prisoners must come to an end.
