'The wall at the border aims to rip the Kurds apart' 2021-08-19 11:18:51   VAN - Stating that the wall Turkey is building on Turkey- Iran border has nothing to do with stopping refugees from coming to Turkey, HDP MP Murat Sarısaç said: "They want to rip the Kurds who have been scattered around in four countries, apart from each other."   While the construction of the modular wall, which was started at the Iranian border of Van's Çaldıran district and extends to Ağrı's Doğubayazıt and Hakkari's Yüksekova line, continues, a trench of 110 km was dug at the border. It was stated that the wall will reach 64 kilometers at the end of the year, a tender is being made for another wall of 63 kilometers. With the completion of these tender, the entire 295 kilometer border will be closed with a wall. This year, 76 towers and 44 outposts were built on the border line. While most of the settlements on the border are under siege, citizens think that the construction of a wall on the border has nothing to do with refugees, and the purpose is very different.   Evaluating the issue, Peoples' Democratic Party Van Deputy Murat Sarısaç said that the main aim was to further distance the Kurds from each other.   THE AIM OF THE WALL IS TO RIP THE KURDS APART FROM EACH OTHER    Underlining that while borders are removed in the world, Turkey is building a wall for a border in the Kurdish lands, Sarısaç told that the aim of the wall is to rip the Kurds apart from each other more and make them assimilated faster. Stating that even though they say the wall is to keep the refugees out, Sarısaç said: "The main purpose of the walls and trenches on the border is to prevent the Kurds from coming together and to break their communication. It is said that it was made to prevent refugee crossings, but refugees pass through the borders in large numbers very easily while the Turkish soldiers watch. A large number of Kruds are killed by both Iranian and Turkish soldiers at the borders. Many Kurds were slaughtered inside their villages. Then again, the wall was built within the lands belonging to the citizens. The main aim is to separate the Kurds from each other. In this way, they want to further divide the Kurds, who were divided into 4 parts, and completely distance them from each other and maybe in the future, settle other peoples here and change the demography. This was done before. AKP-MHP government is doing this in a more violant way. The Kurds killed at the borders are not killed as a result of coincidences, and neither is the wall built there.   'VILLAGES ARE TURNED INTO POLICE STATIONS'   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Van Provincial Chairman Fikret Doğan said that the main purpose of constructing walls and ditches like the Great Wall of China on the border is to keep Kurds away from each other. Underlining that the villages are turned into police stations one by one, Doğan said: "Looking at the region we can see that there are fortresses built every 5 kilometers. Again, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) are hovering over the villages 24 hours a day. While the state is punishing a person bringing in a kilo of tea out of the border, caravans are refugees are allowed to pass. Which indicates that the wall at the border is not for the refugees. The wall is there to divide Kurds even further."
