Scores detained marching to Taksim Square for May Day 2021-05-01 09:22:50 İSTANBUL - Wanting to celebrate the May 1 International Worker's Day, Worker's Representatives Council and members of Forces of Labour, were taken into custody marching towards Taksim Square.   All roads leading to Taksim Square and İstiklal Avenue were closed due to the May 1 Labor Day. While the police did not allow those who wanted to go to Taksim, the Workers' Representatives Council and Labor Force members who were marching in Tarlabaşı with a banner written, "May one is celebrated in Taksim" were detained by the police.   Attacking the students marching towards Taksim from Osmanbey, students carrying a banner written, "From campus to the streets, we will win", police detained the students.   POLICE ATTACK ON KAZANCI STREET   Members of Revolutionary Anarchist Federation marching from Kazancı street to Taksim Squate with a banner written "May Day is the day for fighting" were battered and detained.   Gathering in Mecidiyeköy, Socialist Solidarity Platform (SODAP) members marchign towards Taksim were attacked by the police. 10 SODAP members were detained.
