22 women politicians detained in Diyarbakır 2021-04-05 12:25:08   DİYARBAKIR - 22 women, including representatives of political parties, were detained in Diyarbakır within the scope of the operation carried out against the Rosa Women's Association.   Police raided many adresses including Rosa Women's Association located in the central district of Kayapınar in Diyarbakır early this morning. Scores of women were detained as a result of the operation.   CLAIM OF THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE   It was stated that the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued a warrant against 33 people, including women's organizations and political party representatives, on the allegation that they "operated within the women's structure of a terrorist organization under a legal structure and organized organizational meetings, marches, and rallies."   22 WOMEN DETAINED   Early this morning, the police raided the Rosa Women's Association located in the central district of Kayapınar in Diyarbakır. While the police search was continuing in the association building, many other addresses were raided by the police. TJA activists Zelal Bilgin and Sevim Biçici, Çınar Municipality Co-chair Necla Tamriş, DBP Central Executive Board member Zeynep Üren, DBP Provincial Co-chair Seval Gülmez, HDP Diyarbakır MP Remziye Tosun's press advisor Gurbet Özel, JİNNEWS reporter Beritan Canözer, Peace Mother Nezahat Teke, Diyarbakır Women's Academy member Figen Aras, HDP Kayapınar former Co-chair Besile Narin, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Council members Bahar Karakaş Uluğ, Şehriban Zoğurli, Ruken Bekalp, MED-DER Co-Chair Şilan Kan, Socialist Women's Assemblies Central Executive Board member Satiye Ok, Nurşen Akbal, Ayşan Kanuş Zengin and Leyla Akgül, were detained.   DETAINED WHILE IN HOUSE ARREST   It was learned that Satiye Ok, a member of the Socialist Women's Assemblies Central Executive Board, who was among those detained, was also under house arrest. Ok, who was taken into custody during the operation against the ESP on January 14, was  given a "house arrest" punishment on the allegation of "being a member of a terrorist organization".   SEARCH CONTINUES IN THE ROSA WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION   It was stated that the police who came to the Rosa Women's Association at 06:30 in the morning entered after breaking the door and the alarm. It was stated that the police, who searched the association building without anyone was in the building, stormed their belongings. The search of the police in the association building continues.
