Ministry of Justice: You can not ask questions about isolation

	ANKARA - Responding to the parliamentary question tabled by HDP's Ayşe Acar Başaran, Ministry of Justice stated that the isolation and violations of rights are within the scope of “questions that cannot be asked”.

	 

	The Ministry of Justice anwswered the question of Peoples' Democratic Party's  (HDP) Batman MP Ayşe Acar Başaran, regarding the isolation in İmralı and the violation of rights in prisons.

	 

	The ministry stated that the questions about isolation and violations of rights are within the scope of the questions that can not be asked according to the Parliament's Rules of Procedure.

	 

	Başaran's questions were as follows: 

	 

	" *If what is happening in İmralı and all of the other prisons in Turkey is not isolation, what is your definition of isolation?

	 

	* Isn't it within the scope of isolation that Öcalan and other prisoners in İmralı are not allowed to see their families and attorneys?

	 

	* Why is the Imrali isolation system maintained persistently, although it is included in the CPT reports with the phrase "it should be completely reviewed"?

	 

	* Why are political prisoners staying in prisons unable to benefit from prisoner rights?

	 

	* Is it a coincidence that complaints from prisoners in different prisons are so similar?

	 

	* How many complaints have been submitted to your Ministry for being subjected to strip search?

	 

	* How long will you remain silent to the hunger stikes in prisons?

	 

	Başaran tabled another parliamentary question about the violations of rights in prisons and the isolation issue before. The Ministry of Justice claimed that there is no isolation in any of the prisons.
