Öcalan's attorney: The only solution is the removal of the isolation 2020-12-29 11:26:44 İSTANBUL - Stating that the freedom of Öcalan can only be achieved with struggle not through legal procedures, attorney İbrahim Bilmez said: "The only solution of the problems experienced in Turkey is the removal of isolation."   İbrahim Bilmez from the Asrın Law Office, which assumes the role of defending Öcalan, made evaluations on isolation and the approach to Öcalan.   THE ONLY SOLUTION IS THE REMOVAL OF ISOLATION   Underlining that the isolation is directly related to all of the problems experienced in Turkey, Bilmez said: "Things are going bad in every sense. Turkey's relations with the neighboring countries is getting worse. There is no peace inside, no one has any hope about the future. The economy is not stable. The core of all these problems is the Kurdish problem and the key person to solve this problem is Mr. Öcalan. In order to solve these problems, the isolation must be removed.   WHAT HAS CHANGED?   Reminding that the Ministry of Justice said there was no legal obstacle for Öcalan to be visited by his family and his attorneys, Bilmez emphasized that the minister must make a similar statement today. Asking what has changed since then that the court bans the visits, Bilmez said: "It is not a coincidence that these ban decisions were given in September. Whatever we can say would be a speculation. We don't know what's going on in there. We haven't had any news from İmralı since April 27. How is Öcalan's health? Is the prison free of the Coronavirus? This is one of our main concerns. We know that there is no access to health there. We know how long it takes to go to a full-fledged hospital from İmralı. This worries us even more."   Calling the democratic public to be sensitive to the isolation imposed in İmralı, Bilmez said: "We have not been able to hear from our clients in Imrali since 27 April. There is a pandemic and the people are getting to understand how serious this disease is. We know the circle tightens outside of the prisons but we don't know what's going on in İmralı. The prison employees doesn't live there. They go back and forth between the island and the main land. The food is provided from the main land. It is not possible for the pandemic not to get there. We once again underline that the public must b e sensitive in this regard."   MA / Erdoğan Alayumat
