Hunger strike action in prisons enters day 26 2020-12-22 11:25:35 İSTANBUL - The hunger strike prisoners started demanding the removal of the aggravated isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan continues on day 26. Gökhan Çetin and Erkan Taşkan from Tarsus Prison took over the rotating hunger strike.   The hunger strike prioners started against the worsened conditions in prisons due to the pandemic and the aggravated isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan on November 27 continues on its 26th day. İdris Değirmenci from Tarsus No 1 Type T Prison told her family on the phone that Gökhan Çetin and Erkan Taşkan will take over the hunger strike from Selahattin Ortaç and Abdullah Vural hunger striking with the 5th group.     'WE STAND WITH THEM NO MATTER WHAT'   İdris Değirmenci's sister Kezban Değirmenci told that her brother was hunger striking with the first group in Tarsus Prison and he told that they will be standing with the hunger strikers no matter what, said: "My brother told that besides the isolation in prisons, they have problems like not being able to spend time in the yard and communication with the outside and underlined that they will continue the hunger strike until all of these problems are solved. There are serious violations of rights in prisons. That's why they started the hunger strike. We will continue to support them. Because they persue truth and justice. We will do our best without hesitation to ease their burden. We stand with them no matter what."   Emphasizing that the hunger strike action is in the benefit of all of the society, Değirmenci said: "They bear this burden for us despite such pressure. Everyone should support the action and be in solidarity with them."
