Third group takes over the hunger strike 2020-12-07 11:54:16 NEWS CENTER - The third group took over the hunger strike initiated in prisons against the Imrali isolation. DBP former Co-chair Sebahat Tuncel is among the new group who took over the hunger strike.   The third group took over the indefinite-rotating hunger strike initiated in prisons on November 27 against the aggravated isolation imposed on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan who is being held in Imrali F-Type High Security Prison.   'WE WILL CROWN THE RESISTANCE WITH VICTORY'   The new group who took over the hunger strike sent a message via their families and said: "We are determined to break the inhumane isolation with resistance. We repeat once again that we will resist to the end. We promise that we will fight with the spirit of the death fast of July 14, protect it and crown this spirit of resistance with victory. Resistance and truth will win."   SABAHAT TUNCEL ON HUNGER STRIKE   Former Co-Chair of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), Sebahat Tuncel, who is held in Kocaeli Kandıra No.1 F-Type High Security Prison, is in the third group of the hunger strike.   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) former Diyarbakır MP Çağlar Demirel, who is held in the same prison, took part in the first group of the hunger strike started on 27 November. The wards of HDP former Co-Chair Figen Yüksekdağ, former DBP Co-Chair Sebahat Tuncel, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality former Co-mayor Gülten Kışanak, HDP former MPs Gülser Yıldırım, Aysel Tuğluk, Dersim Municipality former Co-mayors Nurhayat Altun and Edibe Şahin were raided and all written materials, including pens and books, were seized.   Among the confiscated materials, Tuncel's petition to start a hunger strike was also seized. It was learned that Tuncel requested to be transferred to İmralı Prison where PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan is held.
