İlhan: National unity is established among the people

	İSTANBUL - Stating that the attacks against Northern and Eastern Syria, Federated Kurdistan and Shengal have the same concept, Leyla Arzu İlhan, the Spokesperson of the Diplomacy Committee of the Ishtar Assembly, said that the unity established on the basis of the people should be established among the parties as well.

	 

	The fact that most effective power in the Federated Kurdistan District is the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) has shifted its forces to Zinî Wertê, Garê and Metina and established new check points, have increased the tension in the area. On the other hand, the "Shengal Agreement" was signed on 9 October between the Iraqi central government and the KDP. After this agreement, more than 8 thousand military units were transferred to the city area.

	 

	After the agreement, the Iraqi government wanted to shut down the Êzidi Security Centers, while the Shengal Democratic Autonomous Assembly reacted to the decision with its statement on December 1. Gathering in front of the  Êzidxan Asayish Center located in Shengal, Sinûne and Xenasor early in the morning, the Êzidi community protested the decisions taken by Iraq. Iraqi officials decided to meet again with the Êzidî delegation. As a result of the meeting, the delegation stated that Iraqi officials have accepted that the Êzidxan Asayish centers in Shengal, Sinûne and Xenasor will not be closed. The delegation will discuss how the public order system will be in the future.

	 

	Stating that the attacks against Federated Kurdistan, Shengal and the Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria are parts of the same concept, the Spokesperson of the Ishtar Parliament Diplomacy Committee Leyla Arzu İlhan said that the Kurds must be united within the framework of national unity in order not to lose another century.

	 

	CIVIL WAR THREAT

	 

	İlhan, who also made evaluations about what happened in federated Kurdistan, emphasized that the policies of Kurdish forces to clash with each other have been carried out for years and that the situation has become dangerous at the current stage. İlhan said, "Within the framework of these policies, there is a dangerous situation in Bashur Kurdistan right now. Some forces have been positioned in Garê and Media Defense Areas. These forces are not affiliated with the Peshmerga Ministry. These are made up of some forces affiliated to the KDP and the Federal Government. These forces also have a very complex structure.  They could not include the peshmerga in their plans in general. Undoubtedly, a possible conflict poses great dangers. Such a situation may cause great dangers for the future of the Kurdish people."

	 

	Emphasizing that the people are not comfortable with the military and political developments, İlhan said: "The KDP is not a monolithic formation. Therefore, they cannot achieve their goals. They could not persuade the peshmerga to fight against the PKK. Therefore, they participated in the game with a special power. Peshmergeyên Dêrîn, who is fighting for Kurdistan, is uncomfortable with this situation. They made statements through the press that this was a dangerous game. They announced that it is a dangerous game in determining the destiny of the Kurdish people."

	 

	THE PEOPLE ARE UNITED

	 

	İlhan said: "National unity has been achieved in the fight for Rojava. Look at the cemeteries there, there are Kurds from all parts. Many Kurds from Bashur were martyred there. Bakur Kurds came and fought for Shengal. Peshmerga and guerrilla fought against ISIS in the same positions and were martyred. National unity has been established among the people. However, this is not enough. This must be achieved at the level of parties and formations."
