Summaries prepared against HDP MPs for 'Democracy March' 2020-11-18 10:44:37 ANKARA - Summaries were prepared against HDP MPs on grounds that they participated in the 'Democracy March." Summaries were prepared against the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) deputies on the grounds that they participated in the "Democracy march" from Hakkari and Edirne to Ankara. The summaries prepared against HDP Dersim MP Alican Önlü and Iğdır MP Habip Eksik for the removal of their parliamentary immunities, were sent to the parliament.   It was alleged against both members of parliament that they opposed the "Law No. 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations".   BACKGROUND   While HDP was planning to take to the streets on June 1 with the attitude document called 'Struggle Together", the process of stripping DTK Co-Chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven and HDP Diyarbakır MP Musa Farisoğulları from their status as MPs, was accelerated. HDP, defining the two MPs being arrested as a political coup, started a march from Edirne and Hakkari to Ankara.   The march was welcomed with enthusiasm by the people in the Bismil district of Diyarbakır, where it arrived on June 17th. HDP members who wanted to salute the people were attacked by the police with tear gas.  A large number of deputies were battered by the police, along with HDP's Önlü and Eksik for whom the summaries were prepared.     MA/ Diren Yurtsever
