A reminder of historical responsibility against brother's war 2020-11-18 10:43:48   İSTANBUL - DIAYDER President Mele Ekrem Baran pointed out the dangers of the tension in the Federated Kurdistan Region and called for national unity, stating that historical mistakes should not be repeated.   The Kurdish public calls for national unity and dialogue against the tension the KDP wants to create in the Federated Kurdistan Region. Istanbul Religious Scholars Association (DİAYDER) President Mele Ekrem Baran said that the Kurds need peace more than they need prayer, fasting, bread or water.   Stating that the Kurds are among the most ancient peoples of the Middle East and left a great legacy to humanity, Baran said: "They are trying to make the Kurds fight each other. If the Kurds rise to the bait, they will suffer. If we fight ourselves, if we put personal, family interests before national interests, everyone will suffer."   'MISTAKES SHOULD NOT BE REPEATED'   Stating that all of the Kurdish uprisings were repressed due to the Kurds being used against each other, Baran said: "The mistakes made in history should not be repeated. Nobody should play this role. The Kurdish people are a politicized people. Kurdish women are carrying out the greatest acts of heroism in the world. If the Kurds do not respect each other, these wars will continue for another thousand years."    NEED FOR ALLIANCE   Stating that a possible war will not have a winner, but everyone will lose, Baran said: "War itself is the destruction and loss of humanity. The Kurds are one of those who know best how bad war is. This is so in the North, South, West and East. 200 thousand Kurds were massacred in Bashur during the Saddam period. Thousands of villages were burned in Bakur, thousands of unsolved murders took place. There has been great suffering in Rojhilat since Qazi Mohammed. These are all results of wars. There are Qazi Muhammed, Şex Said, Seyid Rıza and many others in our history. In this light of history, the Kurds should never prefer war. Kurds need peace and alliance."   Underlining that the Kurds can play the role of building peace in the Middle East, Baran said: "The Kurds are a nation that is dynamic, hard working, a nation that paid great prices. Kurds have never taken war as a basis of their being.  Kurds have played the role of peace throughout history and have done great favor to the world. As in the case of ISIS, the world was faced with a great tragedy that the Kurds banished it at great costs. For this, we must seek peace, equality and humanity. Let's not be captives of our souls. We hope that nobody would prefer war."   Stating that a possible war would be a birakujî (brother's war), Baran said: "Such a war will hurt millions of people. There are peace efforts today. Nobody should turn a blind eye to these efforts. If the people do not want this war, those who call themselves Kurdish leaders should also take this into consideration."    HISTORICAL RESPONSIBILITY   Emphasizing that the lack of alliance among the Kurds is the biggest problem, Baran continued: "This weak wing must be strengthened. There may be problems between the parties, whatever happens, these problems can be resolved by alliance and unity. Perhaps there is an opportunity today that can only be seized once in a century. We must preserve our gains, achieved in all four parts of Kurdistan together. Kurds lead nations in many ways in democracy. Kurds came to this level at great prices. Fighting between brothers will cause losing these gains. Nobody should be a prisoner of their soul. Nobody should favour war for personal gains. One can not get stronger by fighting a war, it only causes you to lose. Nobody has the right to provoke war. Nobody has the right to prevent alliance and national unity.Everyone should be aware of their historical responsibilities."      MA / İdris Sayılğan
