Inhumane approach to families of HPG members 2020-11-17 12:33:14   SİİRT - Calling the families of the HPG members who lost their lives in the clashes, the military officials are persecuting the families. According to the families, the military officials calls the families, show them dismembered, unrecognizable corpses and then do not release those bodies to the families.   There are 14 graves in the cemetery of the nameless section of Zevye Cemetery in Siirt city center. According to the information; these bodies belong to the HPG members who lost their lives in the clashes that broke out in the Herekol Region and Baykan district of the city on September 20-28. There are death dates and order numbers of those who lost their lives on the graves. Although the families of those who lost their lives have been called by the authorities who told them to come claim the bodies, so far no family has been given the bodies of their sons and daughters.    Leyla Özalp, Siirt Representative of The Association of Solidarity with the Families of the Disappeared (MEBYA-DER), spoke about the issue.   Özalp shared the information that the families reached them after the military officials notified the families that 5 HPG members lost their lives in the conflict that broke out in Herekol Region on September 28, and said that 15 families were summoned to identify 5 bodies but none of these families recieved the bodies in question.   'THEY ARE TRYING TO TORTURE THE FAMILIES'   Stating that some families were notified the families that they can come and identify the bodies but none of them were allowed to identify the bodies once they went there, Özalp said: "They call the families for identification but they do not even test them for their DNA. The bodies are kept in the hospital morgue for 3 days and then buried in the cemetery of the nameless. They are trying to torture these families. Some are shown dismembered, unrecognizable bodies. They call the families to tell them they can claim the bodies but the bodies are not released to the families when they are there."   3 BODIES WERE BURIED IN PLASTIC BAGS   Özalp told that the families who sees the dismembered bodies are traumatized. Özalp told that the families told her 3 bodies were buried inside plastic bags. Özalp confirmed that 6 bodies were identified and claimed by their families while 14 of them are still buried in the cemetery of the nameless.   Defining the situation as horrific, Özalp called on to the public for awareness.
