
30 students detained in YÖK protests

	ANKARA – There was a police intervention against students from Students Collective protesting YÖK on the anniversary of its establishment. 30 students were detained during the protest.

	University students who are members of the Student Collective wanted to protest the establishement of Higher Education Institution (YÖK) in front of its building on its 39th anniversary. Stating that YÖK is a product of the September 12 Military Coup, the students were attacked by the police. More than 30 students were detained during the police attack.
