
All prisoners in Elbistan prison contracted Covid- 19

	MARAŞ - The delegation, who visited Elbistan Prison, where imprisoned Muhammed Emir lost his life, confirmed the epidemic in the prison and stated that all the prisoners in the male ward have contracted Covid- 19.

	&nbsp;

	Muhamed Emir (57) from Efrîn who is being held in Maraş's Elbistan prison for the last 28 years lost his life due to Covid- 19. A delegation of Lawyers for Freedom Association (ÖHD) Diyarbakır Branch, Diyarbakır Bar Association, and Mesopotamian Prisoners’ Families Legal and Solidarity Associations Federation (MED TUHAD-FED) members visited the prison.&nbsp;

	&nbsp;

	Meeting with the prison administration and some prisoners, later left the prison. ÖHD member Attorney Rıza Polat, sharing information about their visit and stating that they met with 3 prisoners, said: "Almost all prisoners in the male ward have contracted Covid- 19. Most got better. There are some with mild symptoms right now but there is no one in critical condition. They are currently fine."

	Polat said that they will share the report they will prepare regarding the meeting with the public later.
