Death fasting lawyer Timtik's health deteriorating fast 2020-08-24 11:32:49   İSTANBUL – The death fasting lawyer Ebru Timtik is deteriorating fastly. Her aunt Yıldız Deniz who stated that the hospital administration, the Ministry of Justice and Interior and the President will be responsible of her death, asked whether they could sleep comfortably at night in case of their death.   Following the sentencing of 18 lawyers from the Contemporary Lawyer's Association (ÇHD) and Peoples' Law Office (HHB) to a total of 159 years with the accusation of 'establishing and managing an illegal organization' and 'being a member of an illegal organization', Ebru Timtik who was sentenced to 13 years and 6 months, and Aytaç Ünsal who was sentenced to 10 years and 6 months, have started a death fast.   Timtik, one of the lawyers who was not released despite the report by the Forensic Medicine Institute that states they could not stay in prison, was taken under observation at Bakırköy Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital and Ünsal at Halkalı Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Hospital.   Hundreds of citizens, lawyers and activists who called for solidarity for Ebru Timtik who is today on the 235th day of the death fast, flocked to the hospital on the call.    THE SITUATION IS DIRE   Timtik's aunt Yıldız Deniz who is currently staying with Timtik as a companion, said that Timtik is now not able to swallow water or her vitamins and that Timtik is suffering from abdominal swelling. Deniz said: "I crushed the vitamins into dust but she couldn't swallow the water I mixed the vitamins with. She has a abdominal swelling and she has mouth sores She is not doing well."   'SHE MUST BE RELEASED'   Saying that Timtik should be taken out of the hospital as soon as possible, Deniz said: "We will try to save her if she is released. The government, the hospital administration, the Ministry of Justice and Interior and the President will be responsible of her death in case anything happens to her. I want to know if they will be sleeping well if my niece dies. Enough is enough."   MA / İdris Sayılgan
