Number of people detained in DTK investigation increases to 42 2020-06-26 17:26:07   DİYARBAKIR -  42 of the 64 people whose arrest warrants were issued within the scope of the investigation opened on the basis of the information obtained during a raid on DTK in 2018 were taken into custody.   An arrest warrant was issued for 64 people within the scope of the investigation opened in line with the information and documents obtained by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on Democratic Society Congress (DTK) on 9 October 2018. Within the scope of the investigation launched in Diyarbakır, 42 people were detain in İzmir, İstanbul, Adana, Şırnak, Batman and Van including Batman Municipality Co-Mayor Mehmet Demir and Silvan Municipality Co-Mayor Naşide Toprak, members of DTK, HDP, DBP and Rosa Women's Association, executives of Non- governmental organizations and lawyers. DTK building was also stormed by the police in scope of the investigation.   It was learned that the investigation, which was decided to be confidential, was carried out with the claim of “deciphering the persons who are operating, working and related to the organization”.   The people detained by the police are still at the Diyarbakır Security Directorate for questioning.
