'Attack against Maxmur is the impotence of UN' 2020-06-23 11:17:35 DİYARBAKIR -  Amed Labour and Democracy Platform Spokesperson Hatunstated that Turkey bombing the settlements in Kurdistan District is a violation of international law and that the silence of UN against these attacks is their impotence.   Amed Labour and Democracy Platform Spokesperson Hatun evaluating the bombing of Maxmur Refugee Camp and other settlements in Federated Kurdistan Region by Turkey, stated that civillians are killed as a result of these attacks and said this is unacceptable.   IMPOTENCE OF UN   Pointing out that the killing of civillians is an international crime, Hatun recalled that the Maxmur Refugee Camp is supervised by United Nations (UN), said: "These camp is populated by those whose villages were burned down in the 90's and whose family members were extrajudicially murdered. This camp was placed under embargo while the whole world was in solidarity. Now with all these are out there, the camp being constantly under bombardement is unacceptable and can not be explained by conscience. If this place is being shelled, UN must self-critisize. The fact that the civillians under protection of UN is being killed as a result of the shelling is the impotence of UN. All member countries must self-critisize."   BOMBARDEMENT IS UNACCEPTABLE   Reminding that many settlements in the Federated Kurdistan Region as well as Mahmur and Şengal have been subjected to bombing, Hatun added that the bombings to civilian settlements cannot be accepted.
