
Prison sentence to Journalist Canözer

	DİYARBAKIR - Jinnews reporter Beritan Canözer was sentenced to 1 year 10 months 15 days of prison sentence with the accusation that she was propagandizing an illegal organization in her social media posts.

	Jinnews reporter Beritan Canözer's third hearing was held in the Diyarbakır 11th High Criminal Court where she was charged with propagandizing an illegal organization.&nbsp;

	&nbsp;

	Prosecution repeated its opinion and requested prison sentence for Canözer.&nbsp;

	&nbsp;

	Canözer's attorney Resul Tamur stated that the investigation was started without a suspicion of a crime, pointing out that his client was accused of 1 like and 4 comments which did not pose a crime. Stating that the comments and likes were not public and the prosecutor's office obtained the information with special efforts, requested the acquittal of his client.

	Court decided that the comments and one like indicated membership to an illegal organization and sentenced Canözer to 1 year 10 months and 15 days of prison.
