Demirtaş: Dialogue with HDP is the best for all Turkey 2020-06-13 14:49:01   NEWS CENTER - HDP's imprisoned former Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş , stating that the HDP is not a part of any alliance, emphasized the call of his party about the 'alliance of democracy, not election'.   Selahattin Demirtaş, former Co-Chair of the People's Democratic Party (HDP), who is held in Edirne Type F Prison made statements about the alliances made during March 31 election period. Being imprisoned since November 4, 2016, Demirtaş said that HDP is not a party in the Nation Alliance.   Demirtaş stated that his party did not cooperate with the CHP and the IYI Party in the March 31 elections, and said that he decided to support the CHP candidates unilaterally only in some critical metropolitan areas for the development of democracy.   NEW PHOTO   Demirtaş, who also shared a new photo taken in Edirne F Type Prison said:    "Hello dear friends. Our party officials have been calling for alliance of democracy at the highest level. But this call is persistently distorted. Therefore it is useful to express it clearly.   HDP has not made any alliance with the CHP or the IYI Party in any way, either open or in secret. Only in some critical metropolitan areas, it has decided to support the CHP candidates unilaterally in order to improve democracy.   In all remaining election districts, HDP entered the election race against all parties, including the CHP and the İYİ Party, with its own candidates. HDP is not part of the Nation Alliance.   HDP's call for an alliance for democracy is not an election cooperation, but a call for common reason to create a bright future around democratic principles.   HDP exists to solve all our problems including violence in a peaceful political way. HDP makes these calls to solve problems including the Kurdish problem, economy, injustice, hopelessness and marginalization with a common mind.   HDP takes its power from the people and only can be held to account by the people. For this reason, HDP will not take a step back with oppression and attacks. It will be best for all Turkey to dialogue with HDP instead of declaring it an enemy.   And of course as the HDP we will  determine our own shortcomings and mistakes sincerely and must tell the people of Turkey about our objectives and solution offers clearly. Greetings to all, with love."
